Dated January 2008
Dear colleagues,
I am delighted to write to you about what is set to be the premier local government communications event of 2008 - the LGcommunications annual conference.
The conference will take place in London from 21st – 23rd May and we
aspire to bring together more colleagues from the sector than any other single event throughout the year.
The purpose of this year’s conference is to explore the latest and most successful innovations in the communications business and understand how these can help councils to better connect with their communities and manage their reputations.
By combining speeches, discussion panels, workshops and visits off-site to leading London consultancies we are looking forward to an interactive meeting sharing best practice in local government communications.
The event promises to deliver strong case studies, inspiring success stories and challenges to the status quo.
Again this year the LGcommunications Reputation Awards in association with the LGA and IDeA, will take place during the conference.
The awards are designed to highlight best practice in delivering the five communications objectives set out in the Reputation Campaign. We have enclosed the awards entry pack in this letter.
Submissions are due by Thursday 20th March.
I very much hope that you can join us for what promises to be the largest gathering of local government communicators in the country and that you will enter the awards.
Bookings for the conference will open on 30th January and I would urge you to book early to avoid disappointment.
If you have any questions about the conference or the awards please call the LGcommunications office on 020 7641 2575 where Alex Aiken or Sonja Parfrey should be able to help you.
Yours sincerely,
